NGX BodyFuel

Truly complete nutrition starts with you!

NGX BodyFuel is a high protein, low carb and healthy fats blend of powdered nutrition that is genetically personalised to meet your unique nutritional requirements.

The ratio of macronutrients (the proteins, carbohydrates and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) is designed specifically to optimise muscle performance and maximise fat loss, enabling you to achieve a lean, sculpted physique faster and more easily than with other supplements and shakes.

Genetically personalised means that the shake formula you receive has increased quantities of the nutrients you need to satisfy your personal nutrient needs. We understand these needs by collecting a sample of your DNA and analysing a panel of well-researched genes that are associated with how different people metabolise and process different nutrients.

Each 500g pouch of nutrition comes with a convenient 35g measuring meal scoop. Each meal scoop represents a perfectly balanced high-protein meal serving for you personally. NGX can be taken as a meal replacement on a 'when you need it' basis. To get the fastest results we recommend you take 70g (two meal scoops) of NGX BodyFuel per day to hit your personal Reference Intake (formerly RDAs) of nutrition. We call this your pRI Target.

For optimal nutrient absorption, we recommend a single meal scoop of NGX in the morning and a single meal scoop in the afternoon or evening. However there are many ways you can take NGX depending on your goal. You can find out more about this here.

A macronutrient ratio that is high protein and low in carbs and fat

Macronutrients provide your body with calories or energy that the body needs for growth and repair at a cellular level.

There are three types of macronutrient: proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

Protein is one of the building blocks of body tissue and is essential for muscle growth and repair. Protein also serves as a source of fuel, with each gram providing 4 kcal of energy.

Carbohydrate is a broad category and not all carbs are the same. There are two types of carbs that provide energy: sugar and starch (also known as simple and complex), with each gram also providing 4 kcal of energy. Most adults in the UK consume too much sugar which leads to health problems, which is why NGX contains zero sugar.

A small amount of fat is essential for a healthy, balanced diet. Fat is an energy-dense 9 kcal per gram and NGX is a source of the only two essential fatty acids: Omega 3 and Omega 6. These fats are essential because they are required for biological processes but cannot be made by the body itself.

Each 35g serving of NGX BodyFuel typically contains up to 28g of protein, 3.5g of carbohydrate and 1.75g of unsaturated (good) fat. This high protein, low carb and low, healthy-fat ratio is designed to optimise muscle performance, help reduce body fat and increase satiety (the feeling of fullness) to reduce snaking.

Fibre – the ‘fourth macronutrient’

Fibre is sometimes referred to as a fourth macronutrient, however it is actually the third type of carbohydrate, alongside sugar and starch. The difference with fibre is that unlike proteins, fats and other carbohydrates, fibre cannot be digested by the body so is not useful as a source of energy. However fibre has many other health benefits and is an important part of a healthy balanced diet.

Fibre in NGX BodyFuel is sourced from flax seed and each 35g serving contains 2.15g of fibre.

Nutrition Sources

Protein

The protein in your NGX BodyFuel is sourced from brown rice protein isolate and pea protein.

To extract the protein from brown rice, the rice is treated with enzymes that separate the protein from the carbohydrate to create a high quality source of protein that is absorbed faster, tastes better and helps to prevent blood sugar spikes. The protein is also hypoallergenic – so you don’t have the same allergy concerns as with protein sourced from whey or soy, for example.

Pea protein is a complete protein, which means it contains all nine of the essential amino acids – including branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) – that you need to consume to effectively build muscle. BCAAs are a subgroup of the essential amino acids that are important for decreasing muscle soreness and reducing exercise fatigue.

The 9 essential amino acids: Valine (BCAA), Isoleucine (BCAA), Leucine (BCAA), Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Histidine.

Fat, Carbohydrate & Fibre

The carbs, fats and fibre in your NGX are mostly derived from ground flax seed.

Flax seed contain approximately 50% fat (mostly healthy fats) and 30% carbs – a large proportion of which is fibre. The remaining 20% is made up from protein that is rich in the amino acids arginine and glutamine.

Flax seed fats are high in polyunsaturated fat, monounsaturated fats and omega 3 fatty acids – all of which are a great source of energy and have positive health benefits.

Flax seeds carbs are mostly made up from two types of fibre: soluble and insoluble fibre. Soluble fibre blends with water in the gut and helps to reduce cholesterol absorption. Insoluble fibre does not dissolve and largely passes through the digestive tract intact. Insoluble fibre is the type of fibre that helps to keep you feeling full for longer and is good for digestive health.

Genetically personalised mix of micronutrients

Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals that the body only needs in very small quantities, but are essential for it to function at peak performance. Your NGX BodyFuel contains 26 essential micronutrients at quantities designed to hit your pRI targets.

Two 35g scoops of NGX BodyFuel contains, at a minimum, 100% or your daily nutrient reference intake (NRI – formerly RDA) as defined by the European Food Safety Authority guidelines.

The exact quantity of micronutrients in your shake will vary according to your unique requirements and specific blend of NGX.

The micronutrient quantities listed are for illustrative purposes. To find out your specific quantities of micronutrients, order our DNA Nutrition Test and we will provide an overview of your NGX BodyFuel ingredients.

NGX is suitable for a low FODMAP diet

FODMAPs (Fermentable Oligosaccharides Disaccharides Monosaccharides and Polyols) are a collection of short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that aren’t absorbed properly in the gut, which can trigger digestive symptoms in people with IBS. FODMAPs are found naturally in many foods and food additives.

A FODMAP diet is intended is for people with medically diagnosed IBS. If a medical doctor has not diagnosed your gastrointestinal symptoms, you should not be following this diet. There are many conditions with symptoms that are similar to IBS, such as coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, endometriosis and bowel cancer. You should not self-diagnose yourself with IBS. Instead, see a medical doctor who will assess your symptoms, run any tests needed to rule out other conditions and give you a clear diagnosis of IBS before you start this diet.
